Rehoard ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Rehoard mobile application and rehoard.com website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services.

Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the information you authorize those services to share.

Listing information: Photos, titles, descriptions, trade values, and categories you provide when creating listings. This information is publicly visible to other Rehoard users.

Location data: With your permission, we collect approximate location to show you nearby listings and suggest safe meetup locations. You can revoke location access at any time through your device settings.

Messages: In-app chat messages between you and other traders. These are stored to provide the chat service and for safety/moderation purposes.

Safety Snap photos: Selfies taken through the Safety Snap feature are stored temporarily for safety verification and automatically deleted after 30 days.

Usage data: We collect anonymous usage analytics including app opens, feature usage, and crash reports to improve the service.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve Rehoard, including:

Matching you with relevant trade partners, showing you nearby listings, enabling in-app communication, suggesting safe meetup locations, enforcing community guidelines, preventing fraud and abuse, and sending you trade-related notifications.

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these cases:

With other users: Your public profile, listing information, and approximate location (city-level, not exact address) are visible to other Rehoard users.

With service providers: We use third-party services for hosting (Supabase, Vercel), analytics, and push notifications. These providers only access information necessary to perform their services.

For legal reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, to protect safety, or to enforce our Terms of Service.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security reviews. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

You can access, update, or delete your personal information through the app settings. You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account by emailing privacy@rehoard.com. We respond to all requests within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Rehoard is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use of Rehoard after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
